Lilly's first mohawk! I know it's small but it's still cute nonetheless! She had a case of cradle cap again so we used some baby oil and it cleared right up. She's been a little moody the past week and she's been drooling a ton which of course means it's teething time! When she can't see me she starts to cry and wants to be held which I'm more than happy to do......although it makes it a little hard to clean up the place (it's a mess!!!!!) Hopefully I'll be able to get some stuff done today, especially since Dan is coming home for the long weekend.

Just something I needed to get off my chest.

Here are Lilly's Christmas photos that I'm finally able to post since the grandparents finally received their framed pics!

Sadly this is the only good picture of Lillian from this past weekend! I did a horrible job and only got my camera out a couple of times. I'll do a better job next year since Lilly will be walking around by then and opening her own presents! This was a busy week for all of us! We spent the end of last week in Shushan and then went to Syracuse on Sunday. Me and Lillian came home today and will start packing tomorrow. Dan started his job on Tuesday and is enjoying himself so far. Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!

Lillian had her final appointment with Dr. Gurski today! She weighed in at 16 pounds and 24 inches. Dr. Gurski was extremely happy with her progress and all of the staff thought that she was a cutie! I was concerned about how she was doing developmentally and she said that she's right on time. She said that I should consider her to be a 5 month old with all of that kind of stuff (sitting, rolling over, etc.) I was just glad to know that she thought that she was doing so well. Sadly Lillian had her shots again, including a flu shot. There weren't enough nurses available so one nurse did it all by herself. She didn't start to cry really hard until the second one. After it was done the crying only lasted a couple of minutes until she saw herself in the mirror and started to laugh. We're packing Dan's stuff today and getting things organized. We hope that everyone has a wonderful Holiday and New Year!

The quality on this picture totally stinks but I thought that it was way too cute to not share. Lillian was screaming her head off for her afternoon feeding and after a few short minutes she completely passed out! She tends to this from time to time and even did it last night while Dan was feeding her......he thought that it was the cutest thing and he couldn't stop laughing!

Lilly hates the bright sunlight so I thought that it was time to get her some sunglasses! While I was taking these pictures I had to walk away for a few moments so I took the glasses off of her and put them where I thought she couldn't reach them. When I came back into the room she had placed them back on her face!

The other day I went to Old Navy to see if they had any stuff on sale for Dan since he needs new clothes for work. I of course had to go check out the children's section and came upon this adorable little hat which was only $1. I thought that I could take some cute pics of Lilly in it and turn it to the side since Dan hates it when people do that! Isn't she the cutest!

I figured it out!!!!! YIPPEEEEEE! It only took me a couple of hours though!! I've been trying to get a new header on this thing forever and I finally found a wonderful website that guided me through everything!
working on the blog.....excuse the mess!
I'm really starting to get into this photography thing and I'm glad that I've decided to take all of Lilly's pics myself rather than bringing her to a studio and being talked into buying lots of pictures I don't need. I still have a WHOLE LOT to learn, but with the books that my dad gave me I'll eventually get it. Someday I'd like to be able to upgrade my camera although I don't think that I'll be getting one that is as big as my dads'.....it seriously feels like it weighs at least 10 pounds! Maybe next Christmas. In the meantime I know that I need to get some better lighting because sooner or later Lilly won't be small enough to fit under the lights over our bed anymore!

Just something that I thought was cute......last night Dan was having trouble with the printer so I asked him to undress Lilly for her bath so I could fix it. All was going well when Lilly let out this HUGE cry. Lilly has only cried like that a few times so I of course ran into her room. There was Dan saying "how in the heck do you get this shirt off her head.....I tried but it wouldn't come off and she started crying." Poor guy didn't realize that there were buttons on the back of the shirt and poor Lilly for having daddy trying to get her head through that really small hole!

This must have been one of the easiest years for Christmas shopping ever!!! Me and Dan are waiting until next year to get Lilly gifts since she'll be getting plenty from everyone else so that was one less gift I had to buy. So now that I have everything I'm hoping to have everything wrapped by tomorrow. After that the fun process of packing begins! My only worry is my attention span.....which as of lately seems to be pretty small! Ever since I stopped working almost 2 years ago I get bored with things REALLY quickly! Who knows why but I know that I need to be packed up since we're putting the apartment on the market as of February. If no one takes it, me and Lilly will be staying until the middle of March or so. Anyways, I just felt like jotting down what was in my head....and at the moment all I see are BOXES!!!

Last night before it was time for Lilly to eat I thought that I would try to get her to sit in her rocking chair and it worked. I remember when we first brought her home and I was going to take pictures of her in it because her whole body fit on the seat while she was lying down but I was too nervous she would fall off! Now here she is, my big girl sitting on it all by herself!

This past weekend was a fun one! Betsy came out on Friday night and we went to Brattleboro, VT on Saturday for our swap. It was a lot of fun and we got to learn a bunch of new things and meet some wonderful ladies! When we arrived back home Lillian seemed to have all of her fingers and toes so I guess Dan did a really good job watching her! We're lucky that she is SUCH a great baby! Yesterday was spent relaxing. I'm going to start packing this week and then tomorrow I'm going to do my Christmas shopping......I've never started this late before!!!!

BAD MOMMY!!!!

We just got back from BJ's and all of the sudden I realized what the date was.........my little Lilly turned 6 months yesterday! How time flies......

She's coming, she's coming.....

my Aunt Betsy is coming!!! I got so excited this morning that I pooped myself out and decided to take a nap! Today we're going to run to BJ's for some more formula and then go to Shaw's to pick up a few things for the weekend and for our card swap tomorrow. Daddy gets to watch me all by himself tomorrow and he even gets to feed me some cereal......which he's never done so wish him luck!!!!

Just in case anyone is going through Lilly withdrawl...

here is a pic since she's been missing in action! We're going to get to the bottom of our lease tomorrow because we're still convinced that the office staff is a little flighty and that we only need to pay until the end of February.
Well I guess everything can't go as you plan.....I went to the apartment complex office today and was told that since we didn't give our 60 day notice by the beginning of the month, we have to pay until the end of our lease which is up on March 31st. I think that more than anything, I am upset about the possibility of me and Lillian living out here without Dan for 3 months (we'd visit of course.) We knew that we'd have to do it until February 3rd (which was the 60 days) but now the thought of doing it until the end of March makes me sad. She said that the only thing that they can do for us is try to rent it out to someone else after the 60 days in which case we wouldn't have to pay. To me it seems highly unlikely that that will happen, although we do have a nice apartment that faces the forest and we have wonderful neighbors upstairs. I guess me and Dan have some thinking to do. Is it worth it for me and Lilly to stay here and then move out there in April, or do we go out there as planned in February and pay for rent in two places? I guess we'll see.

Everyone please wish us luck concerning our lease! Yesterday when I went to go put in our 60 days notice (last day would be February 3rd) the guy said that we may have to pay in full through March (an extra two months rent) because they have to do what the computer tells them to do. He said that usually the notice has to be put into the system by the 1st of the month. Unfortunately the property manager wasn't in yesterday so he wasn't able to tell me. I also can't find a copy of our lease so I'll have to find out if there is anything in it about getting a new job out of state (I know there was something in it about jobs but I'm not sure what!) In the end we'll figure it out......hopefully!!

A season of change....

for the Bombria family! Dan has accepted a position as a supply engineer at Mack Molding in Arlington, VT and will start later this month. We are very excited about the change as we are ready to finally settle down and plant some roots! We're hoping we'll be able to find a house to rent short-term before we buy a house so we can decide where we want to stay permanently (we're not sure if we'll stay in Cambridge or somewhere in VT.) Thankfully we have some time to pack since we still have some time left on our lease. Since Lillian was born, we've both felt the urge to be closer to our parents and since they'll never live in the same town, we'll always be away from one of them (sorry Betsy!) I am so very proud of Dan for following his dream to get back into engineering and for never giving up. For me, this was a lesson to always follow your heart, because it will always guide you in the right direction.

Just a little peek at Lillian's Christmas dress. I was thinking of taking some more pics of her in it because I was only able to capture a couple with her smiling before she fell asleep but I think that I'll stick to what I have. I finished her Holiday Greeting and will get it printed up next week to send out with the cards.
