We're back....

and I'm glad it's over! We've been traveling to see both of our families for over 5 years and it will be SUCH a huge relief to only have to travel far to visit one! We had a wonderful week and it went by extremely fast (like always!) I tend to do such a horrible job at rememebering to take the camera out and I did it once again this week, but I was able to capture a couple of cute shots.....mainly the two above. Lilly took a bath at Aunt Betsy's and made a huge wet mess, but she had a good time! She did really well at my cousin's baby shower and hardly made a peep! We were only able to see Daddy last Friday since he was away on his first business trip during the week, but hopefully we'll be able to see him again before the move. All I know is that we're DONE traveling.....I'm pooped....plus I need to finish packing!

So we went to meet Lilly's new doctor today and she was absolutely wonderful (which I'm really happy about!) Lilly is 28 1/2 inches tall and is 18 pounds 14 ounces. She said that she's above normal in height and right on target for weight. She did some tests to see how she was doing developmentally and said that she's averaging between a 8-9 months which is great since she's still considered to be 7 months medically.

I made some drawings of fall leaves since I was going to scrap pics of my wedding so I'll share those later after I finish unpacking and starting the laundry. Hope everyone had a wonderful week!

Have a good week.....

So tomorrow we're off once again for a long week filled with lots of time spent in the car (about 10 hours total!) We'll be stopping in Shushan tomorrow, and then leaving Saturday morning for Syracuse for my cousins' baby shower. No plans as of yet for Sunday, Monday or Tuesday....all of which we'll still be in Syracuse. Then on Wednesday we'll be heading back to Shushan since Lillian has her first appointment with her new doctor on Thursday. We'll be leaving after that and coming back here. After that we'll be done with traveling until the move.

I'm going to bring my computer with me and the discs of all of the old pics so I can scrap some of those. I'm also going to bring my watercolor stuff with me and make some of those as well so I'll have something to give away upon my return!

I hope that everyone has a wonderful week and that everyone gets lots of scrapping done.....and remember to enter the contest below if you've used any of my doodles!

Credits can be seen here.

Somehow I missed the first pic when I downloaded the pics the other day. I've been using my headbands on her because I think that the kid ones are WAY too tight.....so this way she looks like a girl and it doesn't hurt her to wear them!!! Isn't she the cutest?!!!

This is something that I hesitated scrapping, but it's a part of our lives. These past 3 months could have been far worse, but they still stunk nonetheless! I'm happy that Lillian won't remember what's going on, but I've been sad that Dan has been missing all of her firsts. I am so happy about this move and I am so proud of Dan for following his heart and getting back into engineering. He comes home happy, he isn't tired and he doesn't think about his job over the weekend, which is the way that I think that it should be! And to top things off, he works for an absolutely wonderful company.....Mack Molding.
So Dan, we thank-you for all that you've done for us.....we love you, we miss you, and we'll be together again soon.

Lowercase Alphabet

I'm still undecided as far as the Robeez go, but I know that I'll be going with one of the darker ones since I know that she'll grow out of them fast. Thanks for all of the tips ladies! Maybe I'll let my hubby help me out with the final decision.....key word is maybe!

I tried taking pics of Lillian last night, but the days of her just sitting are over with!!! She kept crawling all around and I wasn't able to get a good shot, mainly because of my poor lighting. Once we move, I'll get a new camera, a new backdrop, some plexi glass and some better lighting so they turn out better!

So here is what I did today while Lillian napped......
And here is the link to dowload....
Let me know what you think below! Also, if you have used any of my doodles in a layout, be sure to enter yourself in the contest below!
Forgot to add- did anyone watch House last night?!! I've never watched it before, but I remembered that Dave was going to guest star on it. I really liked that show!!

Need help deciding!!!

So Lillian is on her way to crawling any day now and I thought that now would be the perfect time to get her some Robeez! I've been waiting for the day when she would finally be able to get some use out of them but now I'm having a tough time trying to decide which ones so here are my top 6.....

I love ladybugs but Lillian looks better in bolder colors because of her skin tone. And then I love the pea in the pod ones because I call her Sweet Pea.....but they're not really girly! As of right now I'm leaning towards the cherries, but I also like the lollipop......I just don't know!!! So which one do you like?

Digidare #26

This is for me and Betsy so she can look at Dave at work! I hope they announce the tours date soon.....I need me some DAVE!!!!! Credits can be seen here.

Numbers!

I was able to these today since they really don't hurt my hand and I don't have to do much editing in PS. So here is the link to download....
Let me know what you think below!

Come back way later for some....

Numbers! Me and Lillian have to go to her doctors today to hand in her release form and then we head to the dreaded Wal-Mart (I hate that place) to look for a wrist brace for me. I've been having issues with my pinky and ring finger going numb and everything is pointing towards carpal tunnel. Well.....last night while I was editing in PS, I had this horrible shooting pain in the same arm. So I think that it may be time to get some support. I have to get a new doctor in VT since my current doc isn't covered under our new insurance so I'll be seeing one as soon as I find one. Since it's my left hand, I figure painting with my right won't hurt it! So I'll be back later today with some numbers to go along with the alphabet. I'll be working on the lower case throughout the week and have those posted before I leave! Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Soft, warm, pinkalicious baby hat anyone?

So I made this baby hat with the intent of giving it to a family member, but then realized it will be way too warm by the time she's born. I basically had a hat making frenzy! Since it's too small for Lillian to wear (for a newborn), I thought that I would offer it to someone.

I know I've been in a gift giving mood lately, but really, I have all of this stuff on hand and it only costs a couple of bucks to send via the post office. I figure it's the least I can do with all of the visitors I've had the past month leaving me all of the wonderful comments. So if you'd be able to use this, or know of someone that would be able to use it, leave me a comment below along with your email address. I'll accept names until this Thursday before I leave and let Lillian pick a name.....hopefully I'll be able to read it before she sticks it in her mouth!!!

Watercolor Alphabet

So here's my watercolor alphabet! Let me know what you think below and if you'd like to see some numbers with it! TFL~

Watercolor Alpha

Want these?

So first I'll offer these tags to anyone that wants them. I made them when I was still working....I think that I was going to attach them to some cookies that I made for my co-workers or something but I forgot about them. Anyways, if someone wants them they're yours. There are 14 of them and each one has a hemp cord. If I get more than one response I'll let Lilly pick one person later tonight. Be sure to include your email too!

Miss any of these?

If you did I've got the new links to 4shared since I exceeded my bandwidth with box.net.

St. Patty Watercolors

Family Stick Doodles

Watercolor Wonders

Pure Joy

Let me know what you think below! I'm working on my first alphabet and should have them done this weekend so make sure you stop back by.....and if they turn out okay I'll be making some numbers as well!

Look what I can do Daddy!!!

Some decisions made, some doodles drawn....

So tonight I started working on the free custom name doodles that I gave to some wonderful ladies that commented on my blog and I started thinking (sorry they're so late ladies......packing got in the way....as well as the computer!) I *think* that I would like to pursue selling my doodles. I think that with time, I can perfect them. But I think that I need to wait until the move. So, over the upcoming weeks, I will continue to practice and continue to give away freebies (which is something that I will always do.) March is going to be a VERY busy month for us and I'll be gone for a whole week so I know that I need to focus on is the move. And knowing me, I won't feel settled in the new place until everything is for the most part unpacked.....plus I'll have a little one on the go so I'll really need to get my butt into gear as far as the unpacking goes. So, first I'm going to finish the name doodles which should be done by tomorrow (I want to edit them all at the same time so I don't get bored!) Then it will be onto some more freebies!

I'd like to thank all of you that take the time to visit my blog each day! I've really been having lots of fun the past few weeks and reading all of the fun comments.

So here's a question for all of you! What is one thing that you splurge on?! What's the one thing that you pay way more than you would ever normally pay for something? For me, it's my hair. I have really thick hair.....and when I say thick I mean THICK!! When I lived in Buffalo I was talking to one of co-workers telling her how much trouble I had finding a good hairdresser and that I was really picky because a lot of time needs to be spent on cutting my hair correctly. So she gave me a recommendation and along I went. First off.....I had never been to a high end salon and never paid more than $25 to get my hair cut. He spent over an hour cutting my hair and I was absolutely amazed. Now here is where I splurged......my shampoo!!!! Mind you I get the large bottle that is the same size as that TRESemme stuff, but it's still $50! So you might be wondering what it is that I use.....it's called Bumble and Bumble and for those of you who haven't experienced.....please do! My hair thanks me everyday! I haven't had my hair cut since before Lillian was born and I'm in desperate need of one, so I just happened to check their website here and it got me thinking about splurges. So, tell me, what's your splurge.......and if you have a great splurge you might even get a little gift (be sure to leave your email addy......only one winner!)

Some new doodles....

So here are my newest doodles! I think that they turned out okay, could have been better though.....but I'm not in the mood to try again so these are it!! Here is the link

When I grow up

Let me know what you think below! Also let me know if you have any more suggestions for me to add to my list!

Can I get a WOOHOO!!!!!

I know it's silly, but one of my student loans is about to be paid off! Sometimes I wonder if I went to college for nothing.....I mean I'm not exactly working or anything! But, if I hadn't gone to college, I wouldn't have met Dan and I wouldn't have the beautiful daughter that I get to spend my day with. So in the end, I guess it was worth it, because what I have is far more valuable.

We have a winner!

And the winner of my second prize is........Deanna!!! Thank you so much everyone for your wonderful comments. I'll be making another prize that I'll be customizing for you.....an altered clipboard! Don't know what one is....come back later and I'll post a picture!

Lauren Grier Day!

Well today was officially Lauren Day! I didn't do any doodles today because I wanted to be able to get some layouts out there using some of her fab kits! The first layout uses her Inverted Doodlie Love kit she made with Shauna Clingerman which is at Sweet Shoppe Designs here. The second one is made using her Amanda & Lauren rule the world kit she made with Amanda Rockwell which is here.
Me and Lillian did some more packing today and I straightened out her room a bit. Things tend to get messy when you're in the middle of packing. Only one more month and then it's all over with!!! At least we'll be away for a week so March is really going to go by fast.
So tomorrow, I'll work on the custom name doodles that I'm giving to those that commented on my question thread, as well as work on some freebies. I'm going to make some boy themed stuff again tomorrow so make sure you pop back in. I'm also going to have another contest tomorrow so make sure you check back for that! I'll also announce the winner of my covered frame tomorrow......guess I better head to bed soon.....tomorrow is going to be a busy one!

My first layout using Lauren's schtuff!!!! All info can be seen here and be sure to check out her store here as well!!!

New freebies!

So I just finished my freebie. This was meant to be the freebie for those that gave me comments and suggestions on my post below regarding the possibility that I would begin selling my doodles! Obviously I had a hard time not sharing the love, but what they will get that is extra special are custom watercolor names that I'll create for them! See what you miss when you don't post comments!!! Anyways, here is the link for these
Let me know what you think!
And remember to sign up for the picture frame that I'll be raffling off tomorrow.....only 13 people signed up at the moment and you could be the lucky one!!!!

Check this out!!!

Okay this totally rocks!!!! I made my very first CT team! I can hear all of my family saying what in the heck is a CT team?!! Well....I'm on Lauren's creative team and I'll be making layouts using her products and I spreading the word that she rocks! So while I check everything out and get caught up, go over to her shop here at Sweet Shoppe designs......where life is totally SWEET!!!!

Lillian and Daddy

I'm back!

Thanks for all of the wonderful comments....I really appreciate it! I'll be making my freebie that's only available for those that commented on my last post today and I'll email the link to all of you as soon as I complete it!

In the meantime, I have a new link for the dinosaurs here (at 4shared.)

I hope that everyone had a wonderful weekend.....I know me and Lilly really enjoyed our visit! I'll post some pics later if they came out okay (Mr. camera hasn't been feeling well ever since his encounter with Lilly!)

Another traveling weekend....and some more advice needed!!!

Me and Lillian leave for Shushan again tomorrow and we have to make a pit stop at her new doctor so I can fill out some paper work. Other than that we don't really have anything planned. I know that I've said it countless times, but I'm ready for the traveling to be over with! I'm ready to call Vermont home. I'm ready to have a warm body in bed with me each night (I've been really cold lately!) I'm just ready to have my family back together.

I'm going to do some more doodles over the weekend and I'll be back next week to share. I've gotten a lot of traffic on my blog since I started sharing my watercolors and I was wondering if I could ask all of you a couple of questions.....

1) If you were to see my watercolors online for sale, would you buy them?
2) Would you change anything about them?
3) Would you buy custom made watercolors made specifically for your needs?

Let me know what you think, and all honesty is appreciated.......even if it's something I don't want to hear!!!! If I were to start selling them I would include a lot more doodles in each pack. I just have so many ideas in my head, on top of the ideas I've already been and I'm wondering if I could go somewhere with this. If you give me some advice on this topic, I'll make a special freebie next week and share with you so be sure to include a way for me to contact you with the link!

4 Shared!

Okay.....so I'm hoping that I got somewhere with the 4 shared people and figured out why I wasn't getting the correct links. So I've added another link to the space doodles below to download at 4shared (it's a zipped file for all of those that requested)......let me know if it doesn't work. If it doesn't, I think that I'm going to have to throw in the towel!!!

Just another simple layout of Lillian. She took this picture herself!! I was trying to take some pictures of her while she was on my stomach and she grabbed the camera and took this and I thought that it was worthy of a layout!

She's getting there!!!!

So here are my space doodles that I finally finished....

And here is the link. Keep those suggestions for doodles you'd like to see ....I'm always up for a challenge! Let me know what you think of these below!

UPDATE- Okay so I hopefully got somewhere with the 4shared people and hopefully this is the correct link here.....let me know if it doesn't work (it's a zipped file.)

Come back later....

For some space doodles! I'll be finishing them up later today when I take a break from cleaning.

Just a little reminder-every now and then people ask why I'm not using 4 shared and mention that they're having issues with box.net. Unfortunately, I'm having issues with 4shared and it's been giving me incorrect links. So for now, box.net is my best solution. If you're having problems, I would be more than happy to send the files via email!
And here's a picture for Daddy and Grandma!

Need some help

Finding a good website with pretty dresses for easter! I've seen a couple that I like at the Children's Place but haven't a clue where else to look for a good deal. I spent a lot of money on her Christmas outfit and really don't want to spend that much again but I of course still want her to be stylish! So point me in the right direction ladies!

Roarrhhhh!!!

This one is for Julie.....download here and let me know what you think below!

I'm still going to be making some wedding and sea side doodles, I just want to be able to devote a little more time to those next week.

Someone please slap my hand!!!

I'm addicted to apple juice.....Lillian's juice to be exact! I can't stop drinking it....and what's worse is that not only do I have the big HUGE bottles from BJ's, but it also makes my stomach upset! Hi my name is Carrie and I'm addicted to apple juice! Okay, I'm off to the fridge to make some Tang and then work on some doodles. I'll be working on some wedding and ocean themed doodles coming up next. I'm still taking suggestions for what you'd like to see as a doodle and I'll do my best to try and create something!

And thank you everyone for the wonderful comments.....they really brighten my day!

I've been having trouble with my Photoshop but was finally able to fix it so I could do a layout! This is for sketch challenge #27 @ TDC. Credits can be seen here.
Here's the link for the St. Patty Watercolors!

I tried to make a leprachaun, but he plain stunk.....so hopefully these doodles will be good enough. Let me know what you think! TFL

Monday, February 19, 2007

Stay tuned for download links tomorrow!

Here's my free prize for my upcoming 20,000th hit (hopefully!) Just enter yourself by commenting below and be sure to include your email address in case you win. Winner will be drawn next Tuesday by my daughter! Good Luck!

Mini Freebie

So I have to do my watercolor words over again because the aqua painter I was using made the images a little too rough for my taste. So I'll do those over again. In the meantime, this one saying and a couple of hearts came out okay so I thought that I would share those.

Download here. Let me know what you think!
I'll be working on the St. Patricks day doodles first since it's coming up soon.....I'll make some clovers, some Irish quotes, a pot 'o gold, maybe a leprachaun if it comes out okay and maybe, just maybe a glass o' beer (yucko....beer is gross!)

Keep those requests comin'.....

If you've made a request for a doodle you'd like to see me create make sure you come back during the week because each day I'll try and tackle each request (as long as Lilly allows.....she's gotta come first ya know!) Today I'm going to finish what I started last night so make sure you come back later today (some watercolor word doodles.)

I'm absolutely loving making these doodles! My mind just starts racing and I get all of these images in my head that I want to put onto paper. Sometimes they turn out okay, sometimes they plain stink. But, like everything else in life, it's a learning process.

And thanks everyone for the wonderful comments on my doodles, on my ADORABLE Lillian, and for visiting my blog and my journey through life. My 20,000 post prize will be appearing soon so make sure you watch out for that too!

Got a free moment!

Lilly wasn't in the mood to nap yesterday so I didn't have much free time which is fine by me! She has been so much fun to watch lately, especially while she's learning to crawl. I was finally able to redo my watercolors late last night and here they are....

Here's the link. Let me know what you think!

Lots of doodling going on here!!!

Lillian has decided that she's not in the mood for an afternoon nap and seems to be enjoying her new found freedom as she shuffles across the floor. We picked up her gate at Babies R Us, went to Michaels for some craft supplies (some of which included my prize once I hit 20,000 posts.....stay tuned....they're really cute) and decided to skip Target since the parking was so bad because of all of the snow mounds. So I shall be back later with some freebies!

*****Oh......and if anyone has any special requests for something they'd like to see done as a watercolor/chalk doodle let me know and I'll see what I can come up with!!!!

Today's Plan

So, today I have lots of things planned! First we're going to go to BJ's to see if the gates that they have are okay. If not, we'll be stopping at Babies R Us which happens to be in the busiest shopping center on the face of the earth on the weekend (okay not really, but people drive like fridiots there!) Then we might stop at Target (I'm going through withdrawl.....haven't been there in months!) Lastly, we'll stop at Michaels. I need to pick up some heavy weight watercolor paper and some new blender pens until I'm able to order more through Stampin Up.
Then, once we get home, I'll feed Lilly again and put her down for her afternoon nap. Then.....it's doodling time. I've got some plans.....so make sure you come back later for an update. I'll give a clue.......a bunch for free and a bunch for $1.
Hope everyone has a great day!

I had to take a screen shot.....

cause this will never happen again!!!!

And yes I'm up at 1:45 a.m........my darn stomach won't stop turning!!!

Friday, February 16, 2007

OMG.....I'm in trouble now!!!!

Looks like it's time to go get some gates this weekend....she'll be up on her knees in no time!!

Well it's time for the winner of the wooden letters and matching covered box that Lillian picked (and ever so swiftly placed in her mouth!)......

Congratulations Demetria!!! I'll be sending you an email!

Thank you so much everyone for entering! When I hit 20,000 posts I'll create something new so make sure you come back and enter yourself again!

I did a quick little flower tonight and decided to only do one since my stomach is turning (yucko!) So here's the flower.....

And here's the link to download. (I deleted this before by mistake but it's been updated)

I think that my next doodles/drawings that I'm going to tackle is Curious George. I just love that movie (probably more than Lilly at the moment!) So we'll see what I come up with!

Links for Watercolors

Here it is.....hope everyone has a good day.

Let me know if you like them or not because they take a little bit longer to make.....and if you think they stink then I'll put my chalks away!!!!

Be sure to enter on Monday's post!

Thursday, February 15, 2007

Wow this is addicting.....

everything seems to bring inspiration! I was looking through my photo album of myself when I was younger and one of the pics is of me and my sister drawing on our little care bear table (that thing rocked!) Then I thought, those would be some cute doodles! I'm sure there's some of these out there....but every doodle is original so these are my version!

Upload here

Doodles oh my part 2

I made a few more doodles tonight while Lilly napped again (she's such a good napper!) I'm using Box.net now for the downloads so they're all in the same download like 4shared.....but this was 10 times easier! I'm going to get my watercolor pencils and chalks out tomorrow so that the colors are better with some of the flowers that I've been doodling. And don't forget to enter yourself in the raffle for the wood letters (post from Monday!)

It's been awhile since I've taken pics of Lilly so I thought that I'd take a couple while she was being cute. She's playing with one of the Boyd's Bears (or rabbit in this case) that I'm keeping for her. She sits without assistance and she's on her way to crawling any day now!

Less to pack....

So I went through my Boyd's bears which just sit in the closet and these are the ones that I'm willing to sell. I still have a basket full (about 20), but most of what I kept has sentimental value.....like the one that Dan gave me on our wedding day. I tend to get rid of things really quickly now for some reason without thinking about what I'm letting go of so I had to sit and think about them for a few moments before they went into the sell pile. I've never sold on ebay before, only bought, so once I figure everything out and price the bears and the stamp sets they'll go up for sale. For those who are interested, my username is cdbombria.

Doodles oh my!

Well I'm just taking a break from packing since we're certainly not going anywhere today with the freezing rain (yucko!) I just grabbed my marker and started to make some more doodles and since they were really easy to transfer into the computer, I thought I'd share.

And if anyone can point me in the right direction as far as a tutorial of sorts for 4shared I'd really appreciate it! I download all of my files and then the link that it gives doesn't work so I'm not sure what step I'm missing.....and I go through the tutorial that they have, but something still isn't working (which is why I'm still using sendspace!)

Time to let go....

So I don't have as many as I thought I did.....either that or I've misplaced some! In any case, I don't need all of these so it's time to weed them out! So far I've got about half of them in the sell pile, but I'd still like to get it down a little bit more. I think that I'm also going to sell a few of my Boyd's Bears that I have sitting in our closet. I'll keep a few for Lilly, but since she can't play with them it seems kind of silly to keep all of them. So once I get everything finalized everything will be headed to ebay and we'll see what we get (all of it's going towards the new camera that I now need!)

Just realized I haven't mentioned that yet!!! So I brought my camera and laptop with me to Syracuse last week. While I was packing up to go from my dad's to my sister's place, the camera and the laptop fell off of the counter. Well they made it through that collision alright although you would think that something would have happened. Fast Forward to this past Monday......the camera was on the floor minding it's own business, when Ms. Lillian decided she wanted to scoot over towards it so she could play with it a bit. Well she played with it all right.....and in the process she threw it across the room hitting the wall.....with a lot of force I might add. Well, needless to say, mr. camera is a little damaged! So what have I learned from all of this.....always keep your camera in the padded camera bag and now is the time that we need to get everything out of Lilly's way!

Oh.....and Happy Valentines Day Dan......we love and miss you!

Check this out for a good laugh!!

Lillian's laugh is similiar to his, but this is just way too cute. And I love that bib he has......need to get my hands on one of those!!!

Need some positive thoughts....

sent to my Great-Grandma again. She was admitted to the hospital again where they discovered that she re-broke her femur again. She has decided to have surgery and is probably still in surgery at this moment. Surgery is risky for anyone, let alone a 93 year old! But, she is a firecracker and I know that she'll make it through this. So if you get a chance, please send some positive thoughts that the surgery will go well and that she won't be in too much pain when she gets out.
