Some decisions made, some doodles drawn....

So tonight I started working on the free custom name doodles that I gave to some wonderful ladies that commented on my blog and I started thinking (sorry they're so late ladies......packing got in the way....as well as the computer!) I *think* that I would like to pursue selling my doodles. I think that with time, I can perfect them. But I think that I need to wait until the move. So, over the upcoming weeks, I will continue to practice and continue to give away freebies (which is something that I will always do.) March is going to be a VERY busy month for us and I'll be gone for a whole week so I know that I need to focus on is the move. And knowing me, I won't feel settled in the new place until everything is for the most part unpacked.....plus I'll have a little one on the go so I'll really need to get my butt into gear as far as the unpacking goes. So, first I'm going to finish the name doodles which should be done by tomorrow (I want to edit them all at the same time so I don't get bored!) Then it will be onto some more freebies!

I'd like to thank all of you that take the time to visit my blog each day! I've really been having lots of fun the past few weeks and reading all of the fun comments.

So here's a question for all of you! What is one thing that you splurge on?! What's the one thing that you pay way more than you would ever normally pay for something? For me, it's my hair. I have really thick hair.....and when I say thick I mean THICK!! When I lived in Buffalo I was talking to one of co-workers telling her how much trouble I had finding a good hairdresser and that I was really picky because a lot of time needs to be spent on cutting my hair correctly. So she gave me a recommendation and along I went. First off.....I had never been to a high end salon and never paid more than $25 to get my hair cut. He spent over an hour cutting my hair and I was absolutely amazed. Now here is where I splurged......my shampoo!!!! Mind you I get the large bottle that is the same size as that TRESemme stuff, but it's still $50! So you might be wondering what it is that I use.....it's called Bumble and Bumble and for those of you who haven't experienced.....please do! My hair thanks me everyday! I haven't had my hair cut since before Lillian was born and I'm in desperate need of one, so I just happened to check their website here and it got me thinking about splurges. So, tell me, what's your splurge.......and if you have a great splurge you might even get a little gift (be sure to leave your email addy......only one winner!)

Lol! What a fun post... and YEAH! Good for you, I'm so totally happy you decided to sell because I know you'll be great at it! I've heard of Bumble and Bumble but other than having it used at a salon on my oh too thin hair (I'll take thick anyday, grass always greener...blah, blah, blah, lol....) I honestly can't think of anything I truely splurge on, well at least not any serious money. I guess digi-scrapping is my big splurge but I try not to spend more than thirty a month... or may be my iced-coffee drinks (I don't do hot... even when its frigid outside, lol) Hmmmmm... I'll probably think of something as I'm drifting off to sleep later... lol. Thanks for the chuckle... and YEAH again for your decision to sell! :D

I guess my biggest splurges would be computer stuff, although I try not to do it often. I love your stuff :)

my ridiculous splurge is clothing for my daughter. i usually buy quality brands second-hand for both of my kids and i get most of my own clothes at wal*mart, but a couple times a year i just go nuts and spend too much money on an outfit for my DD. my husband has fits and points out that she'll outgrow the outfit in six months, and he's right. but i still do it! lol!

Hi Carrie -
I was I supposed to hear from you on the comments made? I am confused about this I think - Let me know - thanks.
Don't forget: -
Stars flying across the sky - and just regular ones. Cowboy hat & boots - bugs - butterflys - basket of flowers - All holidays - pail and shovel at the beach - beach items like starfish - shells - Could you paint overlays with fancy corners? or flowers on them?
my mind is empty now. Thanks for listening to me! Are you in VT? We love Manchester, VT!! Take it easy on the move - can be very stressful. Hug your beautiful daughter!
Hugs, Nancy P

Well...I guess I have no problem with splurging on myself, but I didn't when my kids were little. I think money was definitely tighter then, and there was just no time with four little ones. Now...it would first be my hair. I get it cut every 4 - 5 weeks (the thick hair thing too) and product for my hair. It is the expensive stuff, and it is the only thing that works!! My gal works at a high end salon, and I'd be willing to give up everything else...just don't take my stylist or product from me!!! Secondly, I pay higher than normal prices for shoes. I have "problem" feet...wide foot, narrow heel, 2 surgeries, etc...so I buy the best, and am willing to pay for comfort!! I guess that's not really a splurge, but to some it might be. The most I've ever spent on a pair of shoes is about $175, so I'm not talking about $500 pairs of shoes!! I'm also not Imelda...I usually don't have more than 20 pairs at a time. After that, I give some away before I bring more in!!

I would have to say a camera. I am a horse photographer on the side so I do need to have a great camera. That's one thing I don't mind paying top dollar for. I will always get use out of it, and most of the time it ends up paying itself off. I currently use the canon digital rebel but have my eye on the new digital rebel XTi. The only drawback, I can't get it yet. DH and I just started our own business and any extra money goes to important things like food, dog food, horse feed, electricity, lol. I do have a shoot coming up in April which will actually pay for the camera so that camera WILL BE MINE. I SWEAR IT WILL BE MINE. lol. Anytime I'm at a store that has one, I just have to pick it up and fondle it...I can't help myself.

I can't wait to see how your doodles do, I think that's great. My biggest splurge besides stuff for my son is digi supplies (I have TONS)LOL.

bubble bath!!!! With 3 litle ones I need a little relaxation from time to time and really good bath products and lotions make me sane.

Thanks for your generosity - your doodles are great and I will definitely buy some once you go store bound, especially if you keep them fun! That makes them special and the layouts extra special too

Woohoo congrats & good luck with selling your doodles they're GREEEEEEAAAT! I splurge on ebay cuz Im such a cheapie as my hubby & daughter call me. I buy almost everything & anything on there lol. I used to have about a $400 a month crystal figurine habit. Now that I live in Germany I can get it cheaper here & Ive kinda (not really just dont spend as much LMBO) weened myself from ebay. lol

The only thing(s) I splurge on...ever...are gifts for my four nephews. Due to medical illness, then disability, I can't afford to buy things (anything) for myself...but I pay for gifts "on time" in order to see those little smiling faces of my nephews. :) They are the joy in my life.

After reading your post, I just might have to splurge on this shampoo! I also have super thick hair and am always trying to figure out what I need to do with it. I hardly ever splurge on anything for myself (easy to do for my kids and husband though!), but every once in a while I splurge on some cool electronic gizmo, or occasionally a manicure or pedicure.
