Some me time.....

Today me and Lilly dropped of Aunt Lindsay who is visiting one of her friends in Boston. I then came home and did some packing and then decided that I needed to focus on my emotions. When I was a teenager, I struggled with depression as a result of losing my mom when I was 12. I know it's something that my family worries about, especially when something bad happens like when Lillian was born or like losing someone. But, I know that I've changed.....I've matured. I still get sad, and I still know how to have a good cry.....you know one of those cries where it's hard for you to breathe! I just think that I deal with my emotions differently now. I was just turning into a young girl when my mom passed away and I didn't know how to deal with it and I didn't understand why she died so young. I know that this weekend is going to be tough on me. My great-grandma was absolutely WONDERFUL and I am really going to miss her. But like I've told myself before, she's in a better place. We are truly blessed to be surrounded by those that we love for the brief time that we are here. My only hope is that someday we will all meet again.

So I did these lazy doodles a few days ago and decided to finish editing them today while I took a break. I think that scrapbooking is really a wonderful thing for your heart, for your soul and for the legacy you'd like to leave behind. So here are my little "not wanting to get out the watercolors and be lazy" doodles! Let me know what you think below!!

Lazy Doodles!

These are just so cute. I love all the words you wrote! It is a Very good thing to get your emotions out - my scrapbooking is like a meditaion my counselor says, so I never feel guilty doing it!!
I wanted to tell you about the shoes I purchased for my granddaughter Sydney. Check out
isabooties.com
They are machine washable and dryable, non-slip (which is very good when they are learning to walk), stain-resistant, slip-on style that doesn't slip off. And they are made of breathable Ultrasuede fabric. They had a few on sale and I got just one pair, but I think we will be going back for more. The styles are very cute. We love them.
Thank you for this very nice gift of lazy doodles!

Thanks for the Lazy Doodles Carrie.
Letting that emotion out is good.
I never ever got to meet my great grandmother, and saw very little of my grandmother, so cherish those times you had with them.

Carrie- my condolences. I too lost my mom early, I was seven, she was 32. I am now one year older than she was. (Stroke)

I highly recommend a book called "Motherless Daughters" by Hope Adelman. It may help you along this journey. She also now has a book called "Motherless Mothers", about the girls who lost their moms now having their own children.

I really enjoyed reading all the wonderful doodles that you have composed for our enjoyment. I love your style & the name just cracks me up. You are something. Seriously, I know it is rough on your losing your Mother @ such a young age, but her love is your blanket of security that will always be there. (I lost my Mom after I was an adult, married with children, & it was terrible.) Continue your journaling & digi-scrapping because it is a healing process that's ever ongoing. So have fun this weekend & know that you have made many of your friends smile because of your so cute doodles. Thanks!

What a(nother) bunch of lovely doodles! Thanks! Yes, scrapping is very good therapy and I am looking forward to more layouts of your Great Grandmother as I'm sure they will now coming pouring out of you. I am so sorry you lost your Mother at such a young and tender age. My DH lost his Dad at 10 years old and I know it definitely impacted him and the effects reach out to him still to this day. I am so glad you had your Great Grandmother there for you and that she was able to meet and get to know Lillian too! All the best, Rebecca
