I finally finished....

and I did it all in one day!! Whew!! I really wanted to finish the kit in time for $2 Wednesday over at My Digital Muse and thankfully I did!

The week ahead

So tomorrow I'm going to start working on a new kit. I'd like to have it finished by the end of the day since I already have a ton of ideas written down, but I'm not going to hold my breath. My photo class at MDM started today and I'm so stoked! One day a week, I'm going to have Dan's and Lillian's dinner ready so I can go out and take pics on my own without having to worry about anyone or anything. I'm thinking of starting my own photo project that I'd like to call "Vermont's knocking"......I want to take pics of historic doors throughout Vermont....I'm strange I know! Today was my scrap day and I was able to complete 3 layouts which is huge for me!! I've been such a slacker when it comes to scrapping and I'm going to start setting aside one day a week to make sure that I'm able to scrap. So here's what I created today...Every single thing was created by the amazing Lauren Grier and you can pick up everything here in her store!

Saturday....

was a wonderful day! It rained in the morning, but ended up being a beautiful day afterwards. We headed to Manchester to pick up a birthday gift and get Dan a new wallet since his old one is in the bottom of Lake Champlain!! On our way home I asked Dan if we could stop at the old cemetery in Shaftsbury because it has such beautiful old stones. There were so many little ones for all of the children. I just loved the detail that was put into each stone. Then after that Dan was going to return some stuff at NAPA but they ended up being closed. So I thought it was the perfect time to swing up to the old first church in Bennington and stop at Robert Frost's grave and take some pics. I know it might seem like a strange place to take pics, but these old cemeteries are absolutey amazing. Tomorrow is Lauren Day again so I can finish what I started (my layouts) and then I'm going to work on something new to release this week. Anyways, here's some of the pics I took yesterday.....

I must have lost my mind!!!
So today we're staying inside because it's REALLY humid out.....I can barely stand hot weather, much less when it's hot AND sticky!! No real plans this weekend although I'd like to go for a walk tomorrow with Dan and Lilly. I need to stop in Manchester to pick up some stuff so that might have to count as our walk if it rains all weekend like the weather report said yesterday....although I never take it seriously because they tend to be wrong 50% of the time! Other than that we have a birthday party on Sunday so it will be a laid back weekend. I'll probably go to BJ's to pick up some diapers next week and I think that will be the last box we'll be buying since I'll be getting some more Fuzzi Bunz for Lilly. We skipped the second size so at least that's all we'll have to buy when we have another baby. I've been trying to use my camera every day now that things have calmed down a bit. The photography class that I signed up for at My Digital Muse starts soon and I'm really looking forward to that. I've been reading my manual (again) and things are soaking in now. I think that I have a good "eye" but I know that I need help with the technical side of the camera.....so basically I still have lots to learn. So I hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday!!

Stayed up way too late.....again!!

Well it's 1:30 in the morning and here I am on the computer! I just finished up another item that went into the store at MDM...When I get up this morning I'm going to do some cleaning and do some scrapping since Lauren created a bunch of stuff last week that will surely keep me busy for the day! Me and Lillian played outside for a bit and while I was raking up the grass, she was just walking all around and playing with the sand. So I see her go towards her kiddie pool and saw her get into it.....remembering that Dan had dumped the water out the night before. Well it sprinkled a little bit this morning so there was a teeny bit of water in there so she started splashing it all around. Then once she decided to move on to something else, she thought it would be fun to play in the sandbox! She was a little messy, and a little wet.....but she had a good time and that's all that mattered! She used her little walker outside today (finally....she'd only use it inside up until this point) and she loved it! She also stood on her own twice this past weekend. Anyways, here's a pic for Grandma...

Finally home!

What a weekend!!! I think that we did a pretty good job and I hope that Betsy and Justin feel a little more comfortable in their new home now that it's a little more unpacked! I brought my camera with me but forgot to take pictures so I guess I'll have to take some the next time I go home. Their new house is really cute and it has stunning hard wood floors throughout. Betsy was a little sleepy which I kinda expected since she's 11 weeks. I slept soooo much my first trimester! So we came home today and it was a really stinky drive. The traffic was horrible and there was so much construction! Thankfully Lilly slept through the whole thing which was great because once she becomes crabby in the car, she stays like that the whole ride. This week I think that I'm going to do some doodling, make some "plain" papers and finally go up to the old church in Bennington like I was supposed to during Dan's vacation to take some pics. I had some issues last night with my Atomic Cupcake actions but I finally figured it out so I was able to finish up my kit this morning before we leave...

A little preview....

Here's a little preview of my finished papers.....I'm working on the elements and hopefully I'll finish everything today before me and Lilly leave tomorrow. Other than that I have to do the laundry (my least favorite household chore!!) and get packed. Dan's truck is getting fixed today and the total was below the $4oo mark we were hoping it wouldn't go over, so not to bad. Apparently he needs a whole new ignition.....oh well!!! He's going to be on houseboat on Lake Champlain this weekend with a bunch of other guys from work. I can picture it now......I see lawn chairs, fishing rods, a bunch of food.....and what am I leaving out.....oh yeah.....lots of beer!! It'll be good for him to get out and relax a bit! Oh....I almost forgot, if you have any name ideas for the kit let me know.....it sorta has a funky Asian flair so something along those lines....if I pick your name you win the kit (be sure to leave me your email addy!)

New Kit!!

My first full kit just hit the store at My Digital Muse....

For my first attempt at a full kit I'd have to say it turned out pretty good!! I had some creative mojo today so I thought that I better work while it was still around! You can pick it up here!

So if anyone can send any positive vibes our way I'd appreciate it.....nothing major.....just Dan's truck. A guy went and looked at it today since it's parked in his cousin's driveway. He said that there's something wrong with the ignition so we have to take it to a dealer and taking it to the dealer can only mean one thing....$$$$$$$$!!!! They charge way too much, but we don't have a choice! We only have 2 months left for his payments (really looking forward to a little break).....we're going to wait to buy him a new truck until next year since he won't be trading this one in.....men and their toys! I'd like to get a new vehicle at the end of the year.....guess we'll see what type of sales the dealers are having to get the 2007's off their lots....I just want to get rid of it before it hits 100,000! Anyways, I talked way too much and I need to get ready for Dan to pick me up.....gotta call AAA to tow the darn thing!!!

This has been such a busy week for me and I still have some more things to do like making a blinkie, banner ad, etc. but I think that for today I'm going to take a break! I'm going to use some of the fab stuff that I picked up in the grab bags on Friday at MDM and do some scrapping today for a change of pace. I might even take a little nap while Lilly takes one too! Lillian absolutely LOVES her daddy! Each day when he comes home I open up the door and as soon as she sees him she starts jumping up and down and screeching! Now I know that she loves me, but I figure she sees me all day long and by that point she's ready to look at someone new. As soon as he walks inside, she won't let him leave her side so when he goes to change his clothes Lilly HAS to follow! It's really way too cute! We're going to do some running around with Grandma today which will be a nice break from the computer so I hope that everyone has a wonderful day!! And I'll work on a little freebie that will coordinate with one of my new sets that go on sale on the 15th at My Digital Muse!

A little breather.....

Well it's been one busy week for me and thankfully it's been too hot to venture outside much so I've been a bit glued to the chair at the computer desk getting ready for my stuff going into the store over at My Digital Muse. Having a little one around doesn't make it much easier, but things will slow down soon. I'd like to keep myself on a schedule and create at least one new thing a week. That way, I'm still creating, keeping up with my household chores and most importantly spending quality time with Lillian. I've been trying to take pics of her but she is soooooo drawn to the camera lens and try to put her sticky fingers all over it so I haven't been shooting much this week. I'm going to set aside 30 minutes a day to read the manual and I still need to get the Magic Lantern book to help me a little more.....I really want to master this thing! Anyways, here's a stinky shot of Lillian (she's cute....just a bad shot!)....Oh and before I forget.....My Digital Muse is having a hybrid call which ends on the 15th so make sure you apply (check out the call here at the bottom of the page!)

MY BIG NEWS!!!!!

In other news Lillian is back home with us! Her speech seems to be more pronounced and she seems to getting around a lot better.....in just 5 short days....guess it just goes to show you that they really do grow up too fast! The weather is yucky here today so we're stuck inside and probably won't get to go see the fireworks! I hope to get a little drawing in tomorrow but we'll see.....I'm going to make a schedule for myself for the week from now on to include house chores and time on the computer to draw so we'll see how that works out! Anyways, hope that everyone has/d a wonderful 4th!!

Our mini vacation....

So Lilly has been in Syracuse since Friday and me and Dan are just hanging out (and not knowing what to do with ourselves!) Yesterday we ran some errands in the morning and then went fly-fishing around 5. I actually had one on my line and started bringing it in and it jumped off so we'll give it another try later today! Here's a shot of Dan fishing...

So I was thinking about the saying "absence makes the heart grow fonder" and in my case it's really true. I'm so happy that Lilly is spending that one on one time in Syracuse with my family, but it makes you realize what a wonderful gift parenthood is. My everyday life is centered around this little girl and I would do anything in the world for her.....and I just feel lost without her. I guess this time apart has made me treasure being a mother even more. And let me tell you.....I can't wait until Wednesday when we go to pick her up! In the meantime, me and Dan will enjoy our free time together and explore more of Vermont tomorrow and Tuesday!
