Happy Halloween!!!

Have you seen this cute chick?!!! We decided to surprise Grandma at work today and headed over to her house for lunch. Afterwards, I of course had to take some pics. I was surprised to see that she wore the hat all day long without ripping it off her head which is what she was doing at home!!

American Idol.....

Here I come!!!!! Lillian is just so sweet. She brings so much joy to my heart and I can't imagine a single second without her in my life! She just loves to sing, or what I guess you could consider singing! Lillian really doesn't cry too much. When she's wakes up from her nap, Lillian sings. Every now and then she'll cry, but that's usually when she doesn't nap for long enough. The past couple of nights have been rough here. I think that she has another tooth coming through so she's been waking up and has to come into bed with me to go back to sleep. Stuff like that doesn't bother me though, mostly because when you look at the overall picture, Lillian is such a wonderful little girl. She hardly cries, and when she does, it only ever means that she's hungry, she's tired, or she's in pain. I guess you could say I'm one lucky mom!!

I finished up two new products last night and stayed up way late which is something that I haven't done in a long time, but I knew that I had to get them finished. My poor CT (hi ladies....sorry I'm a slacker) haven't received something new from me in forever! I'm going to start a new product on Monday since we'll be shampooing the carpets the carpets tomorrow and bombing again. If we don't have resolution after that we'll be calling an exterminator. Probably should have done that from the beginning, but not having gone through this before, I didn't know how long and how much money it would cost. It certainly would have been a heck of a lot cheaper that's for sure!!! Anyways, I hope that everyone has a wonderful weekend!!

Cleaning....yuck!!!

Well today I'm cleaning the spare bedroom......it's an absolute mess!!! I've been putting stuff in there as we cleaned everything for the fleas and now I can barely walk through it, it's sorta been the junk drawer of the house!! Other than that I'm putting the finishing touches on a new kit and I'll have that finished later today. It's supposed to rain this weekend, but I'm hoping that it will hold off long enough so we can go to the pumpkin festival in Bennington. They're trying to break the world record that Keene, NH holds for the most lit pumpkins in one place.....somehow I'm doubting that the amount of pumpkins will even come close to that number, but it will still be neat to see!!! We're going to shampoo the carpets and bomb the house one last time to get rid of any stragglers that are left so that should be one fun filled day!!! Anyways, here's a pic of Lilly.....it's a tad bit blurry, but I still love it!

We're back....

Once again our time in Syracuse seemed to short! We didn't even finish the cards!! I'm going to finish them later this week and get them in the mail by Saturday at the latest. We spent Saturday designing and such while Dad and Mary watched Lillian. Sunday we went to the mall in the morning to pick up the other valance for the baby's room. I also got Lillian's Christmas outfit since last year I waited too long and ended up spending way too much money because the dress that I wanted wasn't available any more.

So now we're home again! My new lens arrived yesterday......a 50 mm f/1.8!!! I don't know how I've lived this long without it!! It's going to take a little bit to get used too using my body as the zoom instead of the lens, but I know I'll use it a lot. My next purchase is going to be an external flash and a lightsphere and then for Christmas I think that I'll ask for some studio lighting. I'd like to start taking pics professionally (or somewhat professionally sometime) next spring. I'd like to focus on natural lighting, but the lighting will be "just in case." Anways, we've got a busy day ahead of us! Here's a pic taken yesterday with my new lens....

In other news Lilly is ALL over the place!!! She walks around 75% of the time. I'm really enjoying watching her learn something new and she certainly doesn't give up very easily. She won't walk out in the grass yet, but she's getting there! I'll be starting my final sale at My Digital Muse this coming weekend before I leave for Syracuse. Me and Betsy are going to work on her shower invites and I may start the paintings for the baby's room as well....otherwise I'll bring them home. Anyways, I'm finishing up the laundry which is something that I've been doing a lot more of since Lillian's been using the cloth diapers. The weekend and the week ahead...

So last Friday me and Lillian did some running around. I think that I took Lillian out of her car seat at least 6 times in less than 2 hours!! We started off at the playground which was dead since it looked like it was going to rain. I'm so looking forward to her running around on her own and being able to enjoy the playgrounds more. So we headed to the swings like always...

One of the things that we did on Friday was check out a new cell phone company. AT&T is finally dropping us, which is something that we've been waiting for for some time now. Luckily we don't have to pay to break our contract since it's costing them more to keep us since we aren't using any of their towers.

Then on Saturday we went to a memorial service. After that, we left Lillian to spend the night with Grandma and me and Dan enjoyed a belated Anniversary dinner in Manchester. Then on Sunday we bombed once again!!! I'm so sick of these stinking things!!! We bombed AND I sprayed the carpets 3 times yesterday. Knock on wood.....I think they're just about gone. I bought some more spray today and I'll go up and spray in a bit and then again tomorrow. Would you believe that I bought all of the sprays from the grocery store AND the feed store down the street!!! Oh, and something else I bought......if you own a cat you must get one.....
You roll the litter box and all of the clean litter goes through those grates and the clumps go into that little thing that you pull out!!! It absolutely rocks!!! It made the one thing I hate doing the most so easy!! And it only cost $32 (from petsmart.com) Today I did some grocery shopping and I'm going to do a couple of layouts to catch up on my CT work. Then tomorrow I'm going to get back to work!!

Taking a quick break.....

From designing!! I'm getting ready for the last grab bag at MDM so I've been busy trying to figure out what to create and such. I'm working on my word art right now and I'll get that finished later tonight. Then while I take my breaks I'm going to work on a paper pack that I'll finish either tonight or tomorrow and then I'll start working on a full kit. I may make some watercolors, not sure though so we'll see!!! And in between all of that, we're still working on the fleas! Everything is off of Abby which is good. The only place that they still seem to be is in our bedroom and the hallway, both of which are a loose berber which is a perfect place for those eggs to get deep into. I've been spreading Borax each night which seems to be helping so hopefully not much longer until they're all gone. This is certainly something that I don't EVER want to experience again, so I'll be keeping up with the Borax once a month on all of the carpets and laundry as well as bathing Abby once a month. I'm just sooooooooooooo exhausted and I'll be happy when this week is over and I can get back to focusing on designing and taking pics!! Anyways, here's another pic from Lilly's tutu "session" that lasted all of 5 minutes!!

We went to Grandma's last night for dinner and we all enjoyed some yummy ziti!! When we first arrived, I thought I would take some pics of Lilly in the tutu that I bought her from the dollar store. I haven't been to this dollar store before, but I remembered that the Dollar Tree in Buffalo that I used to go to used to have some really great finds every now and then. Well they had these tutu's in the halloween section and since they were a little lacking in fluffiness, I bought a second one. I was going to dye them pink, but when I got home the dye stuff said that you can't dye 100% polyester so I decided it wasn't worth it. She absolutely hated wearing them, but hopefully it'll be better once she gets her fuzzi bunz since she wasn't wearing a diaper in these pics (but you can't tell).....

In other news, I'm not feeling so well :o( I don't get sick too often, but when I do it's best to stay clear of me!!! Last time I got sick was when I went to NYC with my sis and Mary and we ended up leaving early because I had the flu. So I have the hand sanitizer by my side and I'll pick up some stuff at the store later. I just hope it doesn't pass onto Lilly......she's never been sick (KNOCK ON WOOD!!!!!) I'm going to take it easy today since the last couple of days have been a little rough. Anyways, hope that everyone has a wonderful Thursday!!

Taking a break....

from the hell I've been dealing with since yesterday!!! Monday night I started grooming Abby and noticed that she had a few clumps of hair that I was unable to comb through. Since they're on her lower back, I knew she wouldn't be able to clean it herself so I cut the hair off in those spots. Then, yesterday morning, while looking at the bare patch on her back, I notice fleas!!!!!!!!!!! I flipped out! She's never had fleas the entire 7 years that I've had her, not to mention the fact that she's an indoor cat. I quickly sprung into action because there is no way I was going to let her suffer or let the fleas get all over the house. I went to the feed store down the street, bought some shampoo, spray and a bomb for the house. So yesterday I basically tortured Abby with 5 baths (which I gave her all at once) and combing and spraying throughout the day. I didn't notice a lot of bites, so it looks as though she didn't have them for long.....although I'm certainly no expert! This morning we bombed the house and everything looks good, not that it looked bad before! I bought Abby a flea collar and I'll continue spraying her every 9 days like the bottle says to keep the little boogers away. So while we were away from the house, me, Lilly and Abby went for a little ride in the car. We started off at Price Chopper to get all of our Clorox products for cleaning and then I decided to head up to Manchester to check out the Dellwood Cemetery. I was able to get a few shots......but I'd be able to get more without Lilly and Abby in the car! Anyways, I've got to get back to cleaning. on another kit which will be going into the last grab bag next weekend at MDM. According to the schedule that I set for myself I have until Wednesday night to get this one done so I'm doing okay so far.......although I was doing really great the other day until Dan switched users on the computer and didn't save any of my stuff!!! Today I ordered Lilly's fuzzi bunz diapers and hopefully they'll arrive later this week. I'm so happy that we'll be using these again since we only bought the small size before. The large size that I just ordered will take her all the way to potty training so I'll never need to buy another box of diapers other than for traveling and such. I had to get the hemp inserts this time since she's such a heavy wetter......she likes to drink lots and lots just like her mommy!!!! I figure $300 isn't a lot in the long run when you think about each box costing $30 at BJ's for the next 2 or so years, not to mention all of the waste! Anyways, if any mom's are interested, I picked up Lilly's diapers at www.fuzzibunzstore.com. I opted to go with all white this time.....I figured it was the safest thing to do! Next purchase on my list to start helping the environment......re-usable grocery bags!!! Anyways, I'm off to bed.....before midnight......woohoo!!! Here's a shot of Lilly and Dan at the park......
